The Home Service Store®, Inc. (HSS®) Limited Express 1-Year Installation Warranty
WHAT IS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY
The independent contractor will separately warrantee that all of its work substantially conforms to the manufacturer’s recommendations and follows industry standards and quality guidelines. In addition, should the independent contractor fail to honor its warranty, for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion of the work, upon notice to HSS, HSS will assist in the resolution of defective work in the event the work is determined to have been performed in a manner inconsistent with industry standards. Excluded from this Limited Warranty is any defect that was apparent or ascertainable at the time of the work was completed and was not promptly reported to HSS. The customer agrees to accept a reasonable product match in the event of such a repair if the original product is no longer available. In the event additional product is needed, the customer shall supply all necessary materials, including replacement product.

HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE
If a problem with the installation develops during the warranty period, after first attempting to get the independent contractor to remedy the problem, the customer should notify The Home Service Store in writing at Attn: Customer Resolutions, The Home Service Store, 80 West Street, Suite 104, Rutland, VT 05701 of the specified problem. The written statement of the problem should include the customer’s name, address, telephone numbers and a description of the nature of the problem. HSS will investigate the claim promptly. Repair work will be done during normal working hours except where a delay will cause additional damage. The customer agrees to provide access to the house and to make available during the work a responsible adult with the authority to approve the repair and sign an acceptance of a repair ticket upon completion of the repair.
SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS
This Limited Warranty gives the customer specific legal rights, and the customer may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

THE ONLY WARRANTLY GIVEN BY HSS
The customer acknowledges (a) the customer has read and understands the Limited Warranty, and (b) that HSS has made no guarantees, warranties, understandings, or representations (nor have any been made by any representatives thereof) that are not set forth in this document.
HSS IS NOT A GENERAL CONTRACTOR NOR DOES IT PROVIDE CONTRACTING SERVICES
The independent contractor is responsible for the performance of any job or contract negotiated and entered into between the independent contractor and the customer and the fulfillment of any and all warranties agreed to with the customer.
WARRANTY VOID IF
This Limited Warranty is voided in the following circumstances (unless previously authorized by HSS): 1) The customer supplies materials; 2) The customer has alterations or adjustments made by a Contractor other than the independent contractor; or 3) the customer does not sign an authorized estimate or work order form, or 4) Payment is made directly to the independent contractor.
COMPLETE AGREEMENT
It is understood that this Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and that NO representation, whether oral or in writing, shall in any way alter the terms of this Limited Warranty. Furthermore, nothing in this Limited Warranty shall in any way restrict the right of the independent contractor to bring action against the customer for non-payment.
